Behind the Scenes Support

ISS Facility Manager Jeff Linville shares his story of service-driven leadership and its role in the success of client workplaces.

Become What You Want

Jeff Linville had already gained a reputation for being a service-driven leader when ISS won a facilities management contract for a life sciences client in 2017. Jeff’s strong knowledge of the service lines that ISS was taking over on-site made him stand out even more. ISS leadership quickly identified him as an insightful, talented potential Placemaker, offering him a Maintenance Supervisor role and later promoting him to his current role as Facility Manager.

Intrigued by the learning and development opportunities ISS provided, Jeff was excited to accept the Maintenance Supervisor role. As a Maintenance Supervisor, he continued expanding his knowledge of systems and site management. “I take a rounded approach to a site,” Jeff says. “I like to know the ins and outs of how everything works.”

Jeff also continued honing his leadership skills. “One of the key things I’ve learned is to truly listen to my team—to hear their concerns, their stories, and their perspectives,” Jeff says. “Only by listening can I fully understand who my team is as individual people.”

When a Facility Manager role opened on-site in 2019, Jeff was the obvious choice. His wealth of service line knowledge would be vital to supporting proactive site management and nurturing talent development. Jeff now leads a team of 52 people, covering all aspects of facility services including GMP cleaning.
